Job Description

‎ ‎ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Develops customer focused initiatives that drive the sales of cients' products and increased ‎customer profitability.‎

* Promotes positive relationships across the winery and distributor sales organizations.‎

* Manages the execution of programs through distributor account teams; analyzes and presents ‎pricing recommendations to distributor management.‎

* Makes sales calls to key accounts with team members and distributor representatives.‎

* Works to encompass the development of on premise brand building plans.‎

* Champions the on premise sales effort in winning at the point of purchase, by building lasting ‎trade relationship and working unusual hours including late nights and weekends.‎

* Monitors implementation of promotions/programming to the distributor sales ‎organization.‎

* Supports regional execution through focused sales strategies and efforts.‎

* Coordinates activities with other Winery support areas within the market (Customer ‎Development, Shopper Marketing, D2C, etc.).‎

* Develops and maintains an effective distributor organization.‎

* Develops and presents programs to the on premise sales organization.‎

* Participates in annual BP preparation by forecasting sales based on sales related data.‎

* Conducts sales training and wine education for subordinates and distributor personnel.‎

* Demonstrates strong leadership, selling, time management, public speaking skills.‎

* Reviews and analyzes market, product performance, and other sales related data.‎

* Establishes objectives and priorities, ensuring they support the organization's business plans.‎

* Promotes positive working relationships across the organization and distributor network.‎

* Controls and monitors business expenses of team members (meals, transportation, lodging).‎

* Demonstrates wine knowledge.‎

* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety ‎regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their ‎understanding and compliance.‎

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.‎

* Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; rewards employees or ‎takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.‎ ‎ ‎

The Successful Applicant

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of winery or distributor sales management experience reflecting ‎increasing levels of responsibility.‎

* Experience selling wines to fine wine retail and on premise accounts.‎

* Skilled in reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, ‎technical procedures, or governmental regulations. ‎

* Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. ‎

* Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of ‎managers, clients, customers and the general public.‎

* Strong computer literacy, ‎

* Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, ‎percentages, area, circumference, and volume. ‎

* Skilled in applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.‎

* Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.‎

* Skilled in interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram ‎form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

* Professional selling skills across a ‎wide range of sales contacts

* Strong Business acumen demonstrated through solid understanding of sales and profit drivers ‎and budget attainment

* Organizing, planning and time management skills (Strong work ethic)‎

* Action oriented, perseverance, results driven

* Strong communication skills (oral, presentation, and written communications)‎

* Able to identify and build relationships with key decision makers within large national accounts ‎

* Ability to succeed in non-structured environment, team player ‎

* Able to close sales and maximize contract compliance

* Ability to leverage internal resources to gain and widen business within target
