About Our Client

Our client is a global manufacturing and production company in Norwalk, CT currently seeking a Senior Accountant to add to their Accounting department.

Job Description

The responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include but are not limited to;

  • Perform research in the ASC accounting codification to ensure monthly reported results comply with the US GAAP.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the accounting codification and all newly proposed accounting standards.

  • Provide entities with guidance on US GAAP and on internal policies.

  • Create, maintain, and publish a database of accounting issues addressed to ensure consistency across the company.

  • Perform financial analysis driven by a thorough understanding of the operations of the business (including flux, business understanding, and quality control) and provide commentary for assigned business segments.

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of the operations of the businesses supported and how they impact the externally reported results.

  • Prepare select consolidated account analysis.

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the operations and develop relationships with local finance team members at assigned business units.

  • Process improvements and special projects.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Senior Accountant will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, MBA a plus.

  • CPA or CPA candidate required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or within a multi-national company in a corporate accounting capacity

  • 3+ years experience checking for US GAAP compliance

  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Excel at intermediate level

  • HFM/Hyperion experience a plus.

  • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a team environment, strong interpersonal, and communication skills.
