About Our Client

My client is a large, listed Financial Services firm with offices on the North Shore of Boston.

Job Description

This role is an integral part of the firms corporate accounting team. The Senior Associate/ Finance Manager will be responsible for maintaining accounting records and reporting the results for our holding company entities.

The role will include ownership of the day-to-day accounting and responsibility for the monthly and quarterly close processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for forecasting and monitoring of expenditures, and communicating results to management. Main duties and responsibilities will also include the following:

Maintenance of holding company and subsidiaries accounting records:

  • Maintain accounting records of holding company entities, including general ledger account reconciliation and monitoring of intercompany account activity
  • Monitor daily cash activity in bank accounts and record transactions in general ledger as well as maintain cash forecast for future period
  • Review budget-to-actual and forecasted results on an on-going basis and communicate status to management
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management
  • Leverage and enhance technology to create reports and analytical tools



Preparation of financial reporting:

  • Assist with quarterly close process, including closing entry preparation and consolidation support
  • Assist with quarterly and annual reporting, including financial statement preparation, footnote schedules, and other disclosures, as well as audit support.

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • CPA (non-negotiable)
  • Big 4 (preferred but not essential)
  • 4+ years of accounting experience in both public and private accounting
  • Team player with solid interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and be detail-oriented.
  • Highly motivated individual who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting and be able to handle several tasks simultaneously, as well as re-prioritize as necessary.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP system preferred.
