Job Description

  • Process customer purchase orders, enter supplier purchase orders, and make price adjustments when applicable.

  • Monitor customer and supplier orders, customer pick-ups and transportation assets from loading arrival and loading through unloading at customer and/or terminal discharge locations. Track and trace railcar movements. Resolve operational logistics issues when required.

  • Process supplier invoices ensuring payments made in accordance to terms.

  • Process demurrage / detention invoices and claims - investigate, conduct analysis, and support cost recovery efforts.

  • Coordinate new customer and supplier set-up in SAP.

  • Customer support and customer issue ownership - provide complete end-to-end issue resolution. Register customer complaints and manage complaint handling process. Process claims against suppliers and/or logistics service providers.

  • Coordinate supplier and customer loading / unloading dates and plans. Create load schedule, schedule shipments and update shipment tracker(s).

  • Nominate supply destination and communicate delivery ETA's to customers.

  • Secure shipping documents (e.g. BOL, COA, weight slip, etc.) from supplier and/or create, and distribute to customers.

  • Surveyor coordination during supplier and terminal loading, and material discharge at customer. Review surveyor quantity and quality reports.

  • Manage railcar fleet including railcar maintenance schedule development and maintenance coordination - ensure HM201 inspections and repairs are completed on-time.

  • Create financial estimates and review, consolidate and approve customer's quarterly reconciliation / settlement.

  • Interface with finance reviewing monthly transactions to support and ensure an accurate monthly financial closing

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve order-to-cash process for increased efficiencies, reduced costs and improved customer service levels. Create and implement standard operating procedures related to this role.

The Successful Applicant

  • BS / BA degree, preferably in Supply Chain or Business

  • Minimum 3-5 years Logistics experience, preferably in the Petrochemical industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal / communication (both written and verbal) / organizational skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Customer service mindset and commercial sense

  • Ability to work across multiple functional groups and at various levels

  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel

  • Broad knowledge of Order-to-Cash processes

  • SAP experience (LE, SD, MM)
