Expereience with pre and post award**
Prepare complex grant related billings to State, County, City, Federal agencies and Foundations/Corporations
Prepare complicated billing invoices for the Clients with all supporting documentation to be filed with the billing invoice in accordance with Federal OMB A-133 requirements.
Communicate with government agencies to confirm approval of invoices submitted and follow up on collections.
Process invoices authorized by Program Directors by verifying that proper approval have been obtained and that appropriate supporting documentation is attached.
Process checks, stop payments and voids as required.
Respond to client inquiries regarding short, duplicate or late payments. Resolve problems of that nature by researching the issue and providing the inquiring party with information.
Analyze actual to budget variances on a monthly basis and assists in resolving and / or explaining the variances as well as variance analysis on individual accounts for our government contracts.
Keep the Chief Financial Officer informed on the status of the grant invoices produced and collected.
The Successful Applicant
The Grant Accountant should be able to deal directly with the government officials and stakeholders. Supervise the grant reporting and contract management. The position applies principles of accounting and financial analysis in order to maintain the general accounting systems; reconciles various general ledger accounts, prepares journal entries, assists in maintaining the fixed asset schedules, performs accounts payable, provides payroll and billing / grant billing functions, assist in developing contract budget, financial and variance analysis related to grant performance, and performs other duties as required.
