In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, facilitating, and evaluating learning solutions that drive business results. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager and working closely with manufacturing stakeholders, you will leverage your expertise in adult learning and experience in manufacturing to support the learning and development needs of employees at three manufacturing facilities. Key Responsibilities * Employ instructional design methodology to produce and facilitate learning programs that grow and develop the competencies of manufacturing employees at multiple levels within the organization * Create a standardized approach to technical training for departments within manufacturing including Processing, Packaging, Maintenance, and Replenishment * Collaborate with key stakeholders such as the Director of Operations and Technical Services on special projects, such as the design, facilitation, and implementation of a problem solving/continuous improvement process * Engage with subject matter experts to evaluate and improve existing training programs such as Quality and Safety training * Determine metrics and key skill indicators to measure success and sustainability of programs * Develop train-the-trainer programs as needed * Use learning expertise to develop innovative materials and experiences along the 70/20/10 spectrum of continuous learning: on-the-job learning, social learning, and traditional learning * Provide subject matter expertise in the development of appropriate organizational development strategies and programs * Coordinate and manage logistics associated with learning programs * Travel to manufacturing facilities located in Texas, Arizona, and Ohio as needed * Perform other related duties as required to ensure Learning and Development goals are met
The Successful Applicant
Education and Work Experience * BA/BS in Human Resources, Training and Development, Adult Education, Instructional Design, Science, Engineering or a related field required; MA/MED preferred * Minimum of 7 years of training experience required * Minimum of 5 years in food manufacturing environment highly preferred Required Knowledge and Skills * Knowledge of instructional design methodology and adult learning theory * Technical program and course design, preferably with manufacturing-related content * Expert level of learning facilitation with varying audience levels * Problem solving process design and implementation * Continuous improvement with emphasis on collecting and using data * Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills * Project management * Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive for results * Ability to lead and manage multiple projects independently and prioritize competing tasks * Ability to function as a self-motivated team player capable of working with minimal supervision * Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Preferred Knowledge and Skills * Knowledge of food processing, packaging, sanitation, quality, and safety * Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Kepner Tregoe, or 5 Whys * Knowledge of JMP, Minitab, or other statistical software * Change management * Performance consulting * E-learning development and/or SharePoint
