About Our Client

The person in this position reports to the Director, Supply Chain Planning.

The successful candidate is responsible for managing the master planning function and team within Supply Chain Planning-in support of the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process, corporate goals and profitability, and supply chain objectives.

Responsible for developing the master plans and finished goods inventory plans for production and finished goods procurement that meet the requirements defined in the demand plans.

Job Description

  • Develop and maintain master plans that meet defined demand plans
  • Develop and maintain finished goods inventory plans that meet defined demand plans and master plans
  • Develop, communicate, and select the best master plans that consider the trade-offs among inventory (materials and finished goods), selected costs (changeover, ordering, other), productive capacity, storage, and service
  • Support the SIOP process with analysis, input, options, and recommendations
  • Measure and report key supply chain metrics that relate to master planning inclusive of production, inventory, service, schedule adherence, and schedule attainment performance
  • Develop stocking policies through inventory analysis and manufacturing/distribution analysis as appropriate or directed by the Director, Supply Chain Planning
  • Managing and providing direction for all master planning activities in support of SIOP and Supply Chain Planning activities
  • Ensure weekly-bucketed and monthly-bucketed master plans directly support approved demand plans developed within the SIOP process
  • Work with teams and individuals that address production, capacity planning, finished goods procurement from co-packers, and material procurement (MRP driven by master plans)
  • Support SIOP consistent with the defined meeting structures and process, master data, business rules/policies, and planning application
  • Implement and enhance master plan reporting tools that communicate results and metricsand highlight areas for improvement
  • Work with the Demand Planners to understand the impact of forecast consumption (variance), within a month, on the supply and inventory decisions and performance.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • Broad-based knowledge of master planning, capacity planning, trade-off analysis, and plant detailed scheduling as reflected in a minimum of 5-10 years of experience
  • A reasonable understanding of demand planning processes and the associated systems applications and metrics
  • Prior implementation experience for a tier 1 master planning application is a must
  • Ability to lead and work in cross-functional and multi-location teams
  • Food or relevant process industry experience
  • Ability to lead a master planning team through the application of policies, processes, and systems
  • Organized, detail-oriented, process centric, and forward planning skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with management and staff in other functional areas
  • A good understanding or experience in Logistics (transportation management, third-party warehouse operations, and contract manufacturing relationships is highly valued)
