Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer/Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Manages the Business Unit's engineering team members at all technical levels within the organization, including: Sustaining, New Product Introduction (NPI), and new business pursuits.
  • Provides project management, design oversight and completes engineering tasks to support Business Unit objectives.
  • Holds self and team responsible for meeting customer schedules, deadlines and commitments, as well as cost targets.
  • Actively engages Customers to enhance BU reputation and build key customer relationships
  • Serves as key technical contact for the business unit. Owns all BU engineering decisions and solicits appropriate feedback/buy-in from company experts as required.
  • Aligns with company culture and functions as a change agent driving desired behaviors to BU team and throughout the organization.
  • Recruits, manages, motivates and develops staff in assigned area to ensure individual and team effectiveness.
  • Develops a performance-oriented work environment that fosters, collaboration, teamwork as well as open and honest communication.

The Successful Applicant

The preferred candidate for the Senior Project Engineer/Manager will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's degree highly desired)
  • 5+ years of experience in electromechanical based new product development (experience with analog circuit design highly desired)
  • Three years of leadership experience in an engineering role
  • Exhibits leadership qualities, self-motivates, demonstrates a can-do attitude and leads by example while exhibiting enthusiasm and encouraging a sense of urgency.
  • Results/Performance Oriented - Ability to recognize problems and opportunities. Ability to drive problem resolution and follow through to completion.
  • Customer focused. Driven to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the various aerospace, industry, government and international specifications and manufacturing practices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees/customers and work in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Ability to handle and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
