Job Description

  • Responsible for all transaction taxes including but not limited to motor fuel tax, gross receipts, sales, use etc.
  • Provide guidance to Operations regarding transaction tax questions, approving large tax transactions as required.
  • Work closely with Operations Group to ensure tax compliance buying and selling over 4 billion gallons of fuel annually across 32 States.
  • Manage Transaction tax audits acting as the liaison to Auditor, providing data requested, answering questions and reviewing adjustment schedules.
  • Responsible for being the primary contact for outside fuel tax auditors and well as corporate auditors.
  • Responsible for making the appropriate tax accrual entries as well and preparing and reviewing monthly tax reconciliation for over 100 tax related liability and expense accounts.
  • Monitor Tax developments at the federal, state and local level.
  • Monitor existing tax laws and regulation to support the existing business as well as the geographic expansion of the company.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation Preferred
  • 5+ years direct experience with transaction tax matters in a Public Accounting Firm, Tax Consulting Firm or large Corporation
