About Our Client

The Sr. Account Manager opportunity is with a global manufacturer of highly engineered high performance plastics, polymers and resins serving customers in industries such as Automotive, Appliance, Electronics, Electric, Industrial, Medical and more. These products and materials are high end and high performance taking the place of traditional metal applications and products. The organization is a sister company of a billion chemical manufacturer.

Job Description

The Sr. Account Manager will be in charge of growing the customer base and revenue for Non-Japanese Automotive (Tier 1 and 2 suppliers). This individual must come from highly technical sales background and have strong experience within automotive sales and familiar with plastics and resins. The Sr. Account Manager will work with internal engineering and manufacturing teams and customers on sampling, testing, and prototyping of products. This is a newly created position due to the rapid growth of the organization here in the North American region.

  • Develop strong business relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Serve as a technical expert for customers and launch new applications
  • Provide technical support for customers and work with internal customers in Asia and other affiliates
  • Train customers on products and applications
  • Prepare and conduct technical customers presentations
  • Work with engineers and decision makers to gain approval on current and upcoming programs and projects
  • Work with NA CEO and Vice President of Sales to conducts sales forecasts and account plans
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales reports
  • Keep up to date with market trends and intelligence

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Chemical, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Strong knowledge of polymers, plastics, resins
  • Proven sales experience with Non-Japanese Automotive suppliers
  • Must have experience with highly technical sales process and sales cycles ranging 6-18 months
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Problem solving skills and outside the box thinker
  • Willing and able to travel 50%
