About Our Client

The Senior Manager of Inventory is responsible for managing a team of Logistics Planners.

It requires frequent interaction with Manufacturing, Demand Planning, Sales Planning, Promo Purchasing and various internal departments to execute programs and resolve issues.

Job Description

  • Ensure execution of promotional and launch planning and scheduling activities
  • Manage and provide assistance, direction, and guidance to a team of Promo and Basic Logistics Planners to ensure position responsibilities are performed in a timely, efficient manner
  • Ensure material risks / program shortages are identified and communicated, and action plans are developed
  • Monthly priorities and pull forward plans are executed, risks are identified and communicated
  • MRP purchase orders are written to support Customer ship dates utilizing the Assembly build matrix
  • Ensure the production plan is reviewed and communicated to Customer Service and Sales Planning
  • Ensure the forecast comparison report is run, changes are identified, discrepancies are resolved, communicated and adjusted in MRP if required
  • Ensure team is prepared for Service level, Display Assembly and other meetings
  • Ensure the coordination of the inventory planning process to execute basic programs
  • Oversee the utilization of systems including SKU hold, allocation, and Substitutions along with reports to ensure an efficient flow of product and orders
  • Support divisional cost control in relation to inventory
  • Complete midyear and year end performance appraisals
  • Identify and ensure individual development opportunities and action plans
  • Develop action plans and reprioritize when necessary to ensure goals are met and communicate with respective teams
  • Support CPD processes for all appropriate functions within the department
  • Represent department / division at various meetings, provide expertise in their area of responsibility and ensure an understanding of divisional goals and direction
  • Provide support to other members of the management team and their staff as required.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, employee development, training and direction to create and sustain an actively engaged team

The Successful Applicant

  • 4 year college degree, preferably in Logistics or Business and/or 3 years related experience
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet programs and data bases specifically Excel and Access ; SAP exposure beneficial
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to seek effective and efficient ways to achieve results
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to manage complexity
  • 1 year direct management/leadership experience
