Job Description

Staff Accountant's Primary Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and record journals for various accruals, pre-paids, and settlements
  • Perform reconciliations of general ledger balances and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for journal entries and ledger balances
  • Assist with monthly analysis for accounts and legal entities
  • Assist with preparation of filings and head-office and local requests
  • Continuously develop knowledge of relevant accounting and reporting requirements

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate will have a profile that includes:

  • 2-4 years general accounting experience in a Banking or Financial services firm
  • BA degree in accounting
  • Experience within an Accounts Payable Position a plus
  • CPA/Public accounting experience a plus
  • strong analytical / problem solving skills
  • strong excel and power point skills; VBA excel programming skills a plus
  • experience reporting and interacting with upper management
