Job Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Execute and help optimize the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Help drive zero-defect supplier quality
  • Ensure consistently perfect compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, other certifications and customer standards
  • Help attract and train best Quality Engineering team in the world
  • Analyze and action metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions
  • Perform root-cause analysis to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements
  • Optimize supplier quality requirements and apply best practices for supplier quality management
  • Monitor and action supplier performance data to drive Zero-Defect Quality
  • Assist in leading and supporting Receiving Inspection, Quality Engineering, Test and Calibration to drive Zero-Defect Quality
  • Interact with customers to build strong relationships, identify opportunities for improvement and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and preventive actions
  • All other reasonable duties, as assigned

The Successful Applicant

The preferred candidate for the Supplier Quality Engineer will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Masters degree highly preferred)
  • Track record of success applying Six Sigma best practices to drive Zero-Defect Quality
  • 5+ years of increasing Quality Engineering with Defense & Aerospace Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve stretch goals quickly, while possessing strong people and communication skills
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred
  • Proven expertise at achieving and sustaining the #1-ranked position with customers
  • Strong computer skills including CAD, Microsoft Excel, and all needed software packages
