Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Supply Chain/Demand Planner for this role. You will have proven experience in planning, executing, and implementing strategies to ensure goals are satisfied within a manufacturing domain. You will also be experienced in sourcing products from an overseas supply base and have experience managing tactical supply chain strategies with vendors. Must have understanding of local vendor base and product knowledge within chemicals and manufacturing technology. Other responsibilities include:

  • Development of supplier management strategies to ensure continuity of supply
  • Inventory and supply planning to maintain accurate volumes and financial forecasts for overall operations
  • Prepare and identify proactive solutions between internal/external suppliers
  • Meet with suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, and transportation arrangements at the correct time and quality
  • Provide support to operations, engineering, and quality departments as needed
  • Execute cost improvements and report savings and other metrics as supplied by management
  • Manage multiple suppliers for long term relationships and continuous added value

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have previous procurement experience and extensive knowledge of chemicals manufacturing divisions. Other requirements included:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in production planning, preferably in petrochemicals/chemicals industry
  • SAP experience, ERP systems, and strong analytical skills with Excel
