About Our Client

Our client is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Fremont (San Francisco, CA).

Under general supervision from the Vice President, perform all duties necessary to perform Supply Chain, warehouse and logistics functions.

The Supply Chain Manager is in charge of the overall control of the day-to-day operations of the organization's Demand, Supply and Logistics processes and activities.

Formulates and implements operations policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiencies and productivity standards and ensures strategic alignment between operations objectives and the business plans.

Job Description

  • Demand and Supply: responsible for all supply chain activities from forecasting, supply planning, supplier relationships, inbound & outbound freight operations to inventory control in order to maximize potential sales at minimum inventory and cost whilst respecting customer service expectations
  • Logistics: responsible of the management of the third party warehouse and outbound freight operations by monitoring and controlling all warehouse and transportation activities and ensuring cost and operational efficiencies whilst maintaining the required service levels to the external and internal customers
  • Develop annual Supply and Logistics budgets and ensure budget compliance by managing and controlling departmental expenditure
  • Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures and policies
  • Measure, monitor and report on a monthly basis on Demand, Supply and Logistics opportunities and development plans and achievements. Ensure monthly KPIs are met, root cause analyses done and corrective actions implemented
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure that key Customer Plans are incorporated into the Demand Plan.
  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of the Demand, Supply and Logistics development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements
  • Responsible for directing / evaluating / selecting / negotiating contracts and pricing with all distribution third party providers (public warehouses)
  • Responsible for developing and establishing uniform policies / procedures / guidelines which support corporate objectives for all distribution and third party providers (establishing and maintaining ISO standards where necessary)

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor Degree- preferably in supply chain, operations, engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain & Logistics related field required
  • The incumbent should have an in-depth knowledge of U.S. Customs' laws and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations
  • Must be capable of analyzing business situations, proposing an action plan and implementing. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of organizational and field contacts
  • Has experience in selecting and working with demand planning software
  • Strong analytical experience in MS office, QuickBooks, and ERP background
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
