About Our Client
Our client is a world leader in their market providing manufacturing solutions for aerospace, defense and automotive companies. The company is growing and in need of a Supply Chain / Procurement Manager.
The Supply Chain Analyst/Procurement Manager is responsible for analysis and implementation of supply chain methods for technical raw materials, goods and services.
Work to analytically evaluate and maintain quality of goods/services, cost, and vendor-supplier relationships to achieve reliable and cost effective supply chains.
Manage logistics, freight, and import and export of goods in compliance with EAR and ITAR requirements.
Work closely with cross functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Production Planning, Quality and Customer teams to evaluate and implement purchasing and alternate sources, strategies to minimize business risk and support Lean inventory requirements and Material Planning functions.
Monitor and report trends for business critical global commodities
Analyze market conditions and recommend appropriate purchasing action
Lead and participate in cross functional teams to manage supply chain and purchasing strategies for business critical, technical commodities
Prepare RFQ's, negotiate with suppliers, and participate in supplier selection and contract implementation for raw materials, technical services and stock warehouse items
Analyze, identify and implement cost saving opportunities in the supply chain
Develop and manage supplier performance criteria for maximum supplier value, including cost, lead time, and quality metrics
Facilitate dispute resolution with suppliers and prepare root cause and corrective action plans
Manage transportation and logistics for supply chain commodities and services, including overseas transportation, import, and export for EAR and ITAR compliant goods
Develop and implement supply chain continuous improvement initiatives and customer projects
Maintain supplier performance metrics and utilize to drive on-going improvement in the supply chain
Analyze, develop and maintains outside production supplier capacity and delivery to support Production planning, Material Planning, inventory and warehouse functions
Responsible for working with operations in order to maintain inventory accuracy
The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
3 to 5 years within Operations, Purchasing, Commodity Management or related field
APICS or ISM certification or equivalent in job related experience
Proven ability in commodity management, purchasing and supply chain management
General knowledge of manufacturing processes, and contract administration
- Must have computer skills, in MS Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
