Job Description

  • Ensure timely submission of all tax returns and related payments. Establish process to identify tax nexus, recommend approach in all states where nexus is created
  • Investigate SALT planning opportunities to keep overall tax liability to a minimum. Monitor changes in legislation and make recommendations regarding changes to our tax compliance. This is particularly relevant with regards to sales tax on B2B transactions and tax on shipping
  • Implement control processes to ensure sales and use tax is captured efficiently
  • Monitor sales taxes and ensure systems are updated promptly when there are changes
  • Ensure all tax compliance is executed in a coordinated and carefully planned manner with clear communication to relevant managers and working closely with external tax advisors
  • Manage the taxation general ledger accounts and provisions. Ensure the documentation and record keeping of key paperwork is up to date and P&L and balance sheet is accurate.
  • Management of external audits as they arise including year end audit of tax
  • Be the primary contact for any external tax audits including IRS and local state investigations
  • Establish key tax questions the businesses should include in key business decisions
  • Represent US business for any Global taxation projects and any tax related audits as they arise
  • Perform any ad hoc analysis as required from time to time

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance or equivalent
  • M.S. Taxation or CPA (preferred)
  • 4 to 6 years' relevant experience
  • Big four experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Proactive, attentive to detail, strong sense of ownership, ability to prioritize and to work autonomously
