Job Description

  • Communicate and implement customs requirements with company's global suppliers and sourcing department.
  • Provide support in implementing customs programs and procedures
  • Work directly with the Customs Finance Manager to evaluate customs regimes and their relevance to the company, as well as ensure use of appropriate duty rates according to country of origin
  • Liaise with US and Canada Customs
  • Ensure accurate validation of commodity codes and maintenance in SAP
  • Completion of 3% monthly audit of customs clearances and resolution of findings
  • Work cross functionally with Tax Director and other departments on Duty drawbacks
  • Understanding and the correct handling of ESA and CITES regulations by sourcing teams and suppliers
  • Resolution of daily queries with the logistics department
  • Audit and manage broker operations for integrity and compliance to customs entry declarations
  • Ensure compliance with US FTA requirements
  • Provide financial reporting according to internal and external legal reporting requirements

The Successful Applicant

  • Must be a US broker with license
  • Must have experience in the international and US regulations around the import/export processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of international trade laws, incoterms, commodity codes, import duties
  • Experience in the handling of queries from US F&W on exotic goods
  • Customs clearance of luxury fashion products experience and knowledge
  • Experience in ecommerce customs, dealing with customs brokers, and dealing with customs authorities on duty matters
  • SAP experience
  • Some travel is required
