Job Description

Reprting directly into the Managing Director, the Vice President will be responsible for client financial reporting and related deliverables of various clients within the Hedge Fund, Private Equity and Real Estate investments space. The candidate will be the primary point of contact for client(s), and will be responsible for implementing and supporting the service requirements of the various products serviced within the group.

Main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Management of a diverse group of personnel including Senior Managers involved in the preparation / review of interim / annual financial statements for alternative investments products (Hedge, Private Equity, Real Estate & Exchange funds)
  • Lead/Participate in various projects and initiatives to enhance and improve operational efficiency through technology and other means.
  • Involvement in new client presentations from an operational perspective
  • Act as the point of contact for clients with responsibility for implementing and supporting the service requirements of the various client relationships serviced within the group.
  • Manage a diverse group of personnel involved in the preparation of interim / annual financial statements for alternative investments products (Hedge, Private Equity, Real Estate & Exchange funds).
  • Direct financial reporting teams within the group, ensuring appropriately skilled and balanced teams to meet client demands.
  • Responsible for the effective recruitment, training, development and retention of a team of managers who are responsible for meeting their client's financial reporting needs and who in turn are effectively managing their team members.
  • Maintain high quality and efficient output of the teams through quality performance reviews and maintaining an open rapport with the team of managers.
  • Responsible for management of key client and intermediary relationships, working closely with client relationship managers and counterparts in other internal departments to ensure a seamless and coordinated service delivery
  • Act as a source of technical support and guidance within the business, including undertaking reviews for financial statements prepared by the teams ensuring that all financial statements are prepared in accordance with the relevant GAAP and are reviewed in detail prior to issuance to external parties (clients / auditors).

The Successful Applicant

  • CPA - non negotiable
  • Hedge fund financial reporting experience - non negotiable
  • University degree in finance, accounting, Economics or other with relevant experience
  • Minimum of 6 years direct experience at a management level with alternative investment products
  • Demonstrated track record of managing client relationships with fund companies
  • Familiarity with recommending and implementing improvements to existing procedures, control expenses and minimize loss and risk
  • A skilled team leader with well-honed facilitation skills and the ability to plan, develop and deliver upon major initiatives in collaboration with clients and support teams.
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Sound professional judgment in evaluating when external consultation is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clients effectively on non-standard transactions

What's on Offer

$ 175,000 - $200,000 basic salary plus performance related bonus and comprehensive benefits program.
