Job Description

Finance

  • Overseeing and understanding the capital management process
  • Managing transactions through purchase, development, and sale of properties and projects
  • Serving as the liaison between the company and institutional partners
  • Effectively communicating internally and with banks and investors regarding project details and financial needs



Accounting

  • Managing the accounting and finance team
  • Providing regular property management reports
  • Maintaining a review and audit process
  • Processing and managing invoices for all sub-contractors
  • Establishing, monitoring and managing commercial business accounts



Tax

  • Executing the oversight and edits of annual tax returns
  • Interfacing with the firm's outside tax accountants
  • Forecasting tax obligation scenarios
  • Managing the property tax assessment appeals process



Operational

Legal

  • Interfacing with the firm's outside counsel, particularly for transactions
  • Reviewing with a high ability to comment on legal contracts, including partnership agreements, loan documents, construction bids, and leases
  • Responsibility for the firm's contract execution and version control system



Insurance

  • Interfacing with the firm's insurance providers
  • Recommending insurance strategies, negotiating terms, and ensuring appropriate coverage



IT

  • Managing the firm's outside IT service provider
  • Implementing the property management accounting system



HR

  • Managing the firm's outside benefits providers
  • Maintaining the compliance manual and legal, regulatory, and tax compliance for our work forceProvide cross-support to other areas of the office on an ad hoc basis
  • Manage any future office support staff

The Successful Applicant

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERTISE

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Hard Sciences with strong GPA
  • 8 - 12 years of related experience including Real Estate, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, or Private Equity



REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong Excel skills
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
