About Our Client

Our client is a global company specialized in the logistics and transport of high-end household accessories. The company is looking for a leader to come in and run the warehouse department.

Job Description

The Warehouse Manager will be a key member of a growing business within the U.S. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for the adequate and proper staffing of the Warehouse Department
  • Interview, hire, train, coach, and develop the warehouse personnel for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Set and assist in the accomplishment of individual and departmental goals and objectives
  • Provide daily directions to the warehouse personnel and ensure the proper and adequate allocation of resources
  • Delegate duties as required
  • Monitor staff performance and perform disciplinary actions as needed
  • Evaluate warehouse processes and design and implement new processes as needed in order to obtain optimal efficiency and productivity
  • Establish and maintain controls for preventing errors, losses, and/or damages
  • Safeguard client inventories and ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Responsible for the proper receiving and loading/unloading of trailers and ocean containers of various sizes
  • Make sure the personnel adhere to company's receiving/will-call protocols and verify freight against packing/load list/manifest
  • Ensure that receiving/will-call documents related to warehouse activities are handled and completed properly as required by company policy
  • Ascertain shortages or exceptions related to receiving/will-call and communicate them with clients and/or Tramo representative
  • Monitor and direct the activities of the Crating Department
  • Suggest and design packing and crating methods ensuring the safety of content(s) in transportation
  • Responsible for ordering and replenishing of packing/crating material
  • Report to the President regularly
  • Work closely with Dispatch, Shipping, Sales & Marketing, and Accounting Departments
  • Determine charges as related to daily warehouse activities and forward to accounting for ontime billing
  • Resolve any issues as related to either the clients or the personnel
  • Ensure safe operations and adherence to OSHA Standards
  • Responsible for the overall profitability of warehouse
  • Create and map out an efficient and automated monthly storage billing for clients orders in the warehouse.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5-10 years of related warehouse experience preferably with a logistics and transport company
  • People Management experience
  • Logistics experience warehousing and trasporting high-end furniture or high value items
