Job Description

  • Ensures maximum production efficiency and productivity by directing and motivating the activities of production team to achieve synergistic results through administrative action and personal follow up actions.
  • Plans, organizes and controls department activities of a multi-shift operation to accomplish production schedules while ensuring that products satisfy cost and quality standards.
  • Plans and consults with the Value Stream Manager and Supervisors on programs of preventive maintenance, new product development, and departmental improvements.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of equipment, methods, and facilities.
  • Coordinates with Production Planning and implements the department's capacities to achieve production schedules to satisfy both short and long range objectives.
  • Establishes alternatives and contingency plans to prevent production and equipment problems.
  • Reviews, analyzes, approves, and acts upon matters pertaining to employee relations. Resolves personnel policy matters related to the department. Interviews, recommends, and selects personnel to fill vacant positions.
  • Coordinates with Engineering staff, Quality Control and outside subcontractors to promote technological product and process improvements.
  • Coordinates manpower planning on a weekly, monthly, and long-range basis in order to maintain and improve manufacturing efficiency and capacity flexibility.
  • Assists in developing efficient, economical manufacturing processes for the fabrication and/or assembly of new or altered products.
  • Administers within his/her area all applicable Corporate and Governmental policies and regulations pertaining to safety, environmental matters, Affirmative Action and EEO issues, and the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Maintains work-in-process inventories to meet production schedules in accordance with corporate guidelines and objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices for all activities under his/her direction.

The Successful Applicant

Required Skills & Experience:

* B.S. in Engineering or Business with related technical courses an absolute must.
* Minimum 4-6 years production supervision experience within manufacturing operations OR 10 Years' experience within the area of core business competency.
* Ability to plan and control the administrative and financial operation of department.
* Requires overall knowledge and understanding of manufacturing, assembly, tooling, processing and financial systems.
* Developed administrative, supervisory, and communications skills.
* SAP experience preferred.
