As such, our ecological investigations are backed by detailed engineering analyses, and our engineering solutions fully account for the ecological and environmental attributes and features of the project site.

Job Description

Applicants should have demonstrated experience in project management, hydraulic modeling and hydrologic analysis, and ideally experience in stream restoration, dam removal, fish passage, aquatic habitat design, fluvial geomorphology, sustainable flood management, and innovative stormwater design. This person should be comfortable working on a team of interdisciplinary staff and be a strong multi-tasker, capable of mentoring junior engineering staff.

The qualified candidate will be interacting with engineers, scientists and ecologists, regulators, contractors, and clients, focusing primarily on the analysis, modeling, design and construction oversight of dam removal, fish passage, aquatic habitat enhancement, aquatic organism passage at road crossings, and river restoration projects, as well as providing practice leadership in hydraulic modeling and engineering for the firm. The individual must have the capability and willingness to participate in physically demanding field work in remote locations and travel to job sites throughout the east coast and between offices as needed. The Successful Applicant


  • Team player with a multidisciplinary approach to design
  • Project management experience
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
  • 3-8 years relevant experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and modeling, including HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS
  • Experience designing stormwater, constructed wetlands, wetlands mitigation projects, and river restoration
  • Expert in AutoCAD and experienced in GIS (for use in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling)
  • Experience developing design plans, as well as construction specifications and cost estimates
  • Engineer-In-Training certificate
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to travel to various locations for projects
  • A passion for restoring aquatic ecosystems and solving problems


  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • MicroStation
  • Experience in Total Station and/or GPS surveying
  • Knowledge of, or experience in federal, state and/or local regulatory compliance
  • Additional education/training in geomorphology, hydrology or geology
