About Our Client

My client is a Consumer Goods organization that is seeking a Accounts Manager to join their team ASAP. This role will involve maintain and control the GL accounts and business transactions, applying GAAP & working with thorough review of financial records.

Job Description

  • Day-to-day, monthly and year end operations of the Accounting/Finance Departments, with strong focus on GL detail reconciliation and preparation of month end schedules.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies in accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
  • Actively helping with US and International financial audits, including preparation of audit schedules and reconciliations as needed.
  • Continued discussions with team leads to ensure proper recording of transactions.
  • Distribute reports analyzing monthly/quarterly/annual deductions/returns/charge backs by customer.
  • Experience with dealings of international transactions and intercompany GL transactions.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
  • Evaluate current processes for effectiveness and efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide assistance as needed to accounting department.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience working at a distribution company that sells goods to other retailers
  • Experience handling inventory volume of $100 million
  • 5+ years GL experience
  • Ability to work in a hands-on manner; strong Excel skills required
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Proficiency in the English language is required.
  • At least 6 years of experience in this field is required.
  • Must possess an accounting degree.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing/distribution industry is required.
