Job Description

  • Oversee the month-end close and ensure timeliness as well as accuracy of journal entries and deliverables.
  • Compile and analyze various financial information relating to OpEx accrual, allocation, amortization, sales, and discounts.
  • Own the monthly and quarterly AR provisions, including detailed analysis, presented to the Controller and CFO.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Act as a key liaison when coordinating with internal and external audit requests. Provide service to tax consultants.
  • Work cross functionally with all heads of departments, including FP&A, IT, AP/AR, Tax, Treasury and Operations, in order to improve policies and processes, as well as create new initiatives.
  • Support Finance with the creation of the annual budget.
  • Assist project management team with strategic initiatives and business acquisitions.
  • Supervise and lead assigned staff members with day-to-day operations, providing guidance on complex and technical accounting issues, as well as other areas of professional growth.
  • Maintain organized, accurate and complete accounting records.

The Successful Applicant

  • Previous experience at a managerial level - including overseeing a team (of any size)
  • Prior professional experience in a Retail/Wholesale focused company is required
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and regulations
  • Advanced level of Excel understanding
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Willing to commute to midtown Manhattan 2-3 times a week as required
