Save JobEmail Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsWell known non-profit organization based in ManhattanAre looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the teamAbout Our ClientA well known non-profit organizationJob DescriptionThe role will involve:Maintains the agency policies and procedures as related to AP.Supervise AP staff in the absence of the AP Manager.Review and approve vouchers for complete documentation and accurate coding.Review and post AP transaction in the accounting system on a daily basis.Review AP aging report twice a week and make timely payment selections.Responsible for timely closing of AP (10th of every month).Monitor employee advances and follow up on outstanding receipts.Review employee credit card transactions and follow up on outstanding receipts.Prepare and maintain account analysis for year-end audit as directed.Responsible for preparation of 1099 forms to vendors.Prepare vendor ACH / Check payments for review and execution.Analyze, resolves and answers complex or difficult problems presented by AP staff, program staff, or vendors.Educate program staff on the agency policy such as travel reimbursement policy.Responsible for replenishing, distributing and obtaining proper documentation of metro cards.Respond to vendors, programs and management calls/email within 24 to 48 hours.Improve accuracy and efficiency of the AP department.Perform other related duties that may be assigned.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
