My client is a national Real Estate Investment and Development firm with over $5B under development. They specialize in developing and constructing unique residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. With their growing pipeline they are looking to bring on a strong Acquisitions Associate (NY Residential Developer) to their New York office.

The Acquisitions Associate (NY Residential Developer) will:

  • Analyze and underwrite new development and/or acquisition opportunities using complex financial modeling and market data analysis.
  • Draft investment memorandums and create presentations for acquisitions.
  • Research and analyze demographic, economic, and real estate market data to recognize market trends to support detailed deal-level due diligence and underwriting assumptions.
  • Foster and maintain active relationships with target market participants including investment sales brokers, property managers, lenders, and services to find and source off-market deals.
  • Support all aspects of development and/or asset acquisition process, including contracting, entitlement, design development, capital raising, construction, property management selection, and asset management.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and leadership of 2-3 active development projects in the design and construction phase, reporting to in-house management.
  • Create and manage the development pro forma and schedule, including all draw activity. Prepare lender draw packages and monitor asset performance for compliance with loan covenants and other governing documents.
  • Manage assets effectively by collaborating with the property management companies, lenders, and other service providers.
  • Maintain detailed pipeline of potential new investments.
  • Occasional travel to conduct on-site due diligence for potential new investments may be required

The Successful Applicant

The Acquisitions Associate (NY Residential Developer) will:

  • 3+ years relevant professional experience preferred in real estate acquisitions (residential)

    * Strong communication skills (both written and oral).

    * Advanced real estate modeling and underwriting experience

    * Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint).

    * Strong understanding of Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheets.

    * A true self-starter capable of accomplishing complicated tasks with limited


    * Highly Analytical and excelled attention to detail.

    * A desire to work in a team environment while understanding the opportunity to

    move vertically.

    * Bachelor's degree in real estate, hospitality and/or finance. MBA/Master's

    degree preferred.
