Job Description

The Quality Manager (Aerospace) will:

  • The Quality Manager (Aerospace) will lead the quality program, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements at the Brentwood, NY facility.
  • Oversee corrective action systems (CARs, SIRs) and manage non-conforming actions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain vendor quality review processes, partnering with suppliers to resolve issues and enhance performance.
  • Ensure smooth certification preparation and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Support defense and commercial shipments by coordinating quality documentation and inspection processes.
  • Achieve and maintain NDT Level certification to oversee weld and non-destructive testing inspections.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure quality is integrated into processes.
  • Partner with customers to resolve quality concerns, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Manage and develop the Quality Engineering and Inspection teams to improve overall quality performance.
  • Build strong relationships with third-party and customer inspectors to facilitate product approvals.
  • Streamline and simplify quality processes for efficiency while maintaining compliance and flexibility.
  • Drive a culture of quality through Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and data-driven decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive Quality Management Experience: Proven track record in quality leadership within aerospace, defense, or a similar highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of industry standards, compliance requirements, and certifications such as AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP.
  • Problem-Solving Expertise: Ability to analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Experience managing and mentoring quality engineering and inspection teams to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) processes (preferred, not required), supplier quality management, and precision manufacturing techniques.
  • Customer & Supplier Engagement: Strong communication skills to build relationships with customers, suppliers, and third-party inspectors.
  • Process Improvement Focus: Ability to streamline and simplify quality processes while maintaining compliance and flexibility.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Proficiency in using metrics and structured methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM) to drive operational excellence.
