About Our Client

Our client for the Heavy Duty Sales and Business Development Manager opportunity is a global manufacturer of highly engineered solutions for marine, aerospace, automotive, heavy duty, and commercial vehicles. This global organization has over 20 manufacturing plants globally and services the OE and Aftermarket customers.

Job Description

The Heavy Duty Sales and Business Development Manager will support the current business while also pursuing new business opportunities and programs for new business wins with Heavy Duty customers such as Caterpillar, John Deere, CNE and similar. This person will need to have a strong hunter business development mentality and mindset. This is a remote work from home position, but the person must be located in the state of Illinois.· Conduct needs analysis to uncover customer needs and requirements for solutions

· Maintain regular contact with customers to organization meetings and maintain a strong relationship with engineering, purchasing and other stakeholders

· Pursue new business wins and applications

· Perform retrofit and up-fit work on customer applications

· Lead customer RFQ process and provide technical input collaborating on pricing

· Work cross-functionally with project teams and engineering teams

· Support business wins and awards to ensure a smooth and successful program launch

· Lead customer presentations, product demonstrations and work with decision makers on product selection

· Attend Marketing events, including trade shows

· Keep track of sales activity in SalesForce CRM system

· Develop and execute a strategic summary and 5 year plan to maintain and grow sales with target customers in the NAFTA region

· Conduct pricing and technical information and perform customer follow up communication

· Follow up on Quality Management System requirements in compliance with ISO 9001

The Successful Applicant

· Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering (Engineering Preferred)

· Must have high technical aptitude and able to speak knowledgeably on technical applications

· 5-10 years of experience in sales, account management, business development customer facing roles in automotive, AG, heavy duty, off highway, or commercial vehicles

· Excellent communication and present skills to large and small groups

· Prior experience with customers such as CNH, John Deere, Caterpillar, Navistar, Daimler, Paccar highly preferred

· High sense of urgency and attention to detail

· Microsoft Suite knowledge

· SalesForce CRM is a plus

· Strong math and problem solving skills

· Trustworthy and strong ethics

· Ability to travel up to 25%

What's on Offer

Competitive base salary $115,000 - $145,000, bonus, phone, computer, credit card, full benefits, 401K, PTO, fully remote role working from home in the Illinois area.
