Job Description

The Key Responsibilities entail;

  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Book expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
  • Pay vendors; verifying W9's are up to date with federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Maintain historical records by microfilming and filing documents
  • Disburse petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation
  • Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing relate
  • Ad-hoc accounting projects and reports

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will possess;

  • College degree in accounting, or related work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with managing a high volume of invoices
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar ERP system is highly desired
  • Strong data entry and computer skills
  • The idea candidate is highly organized
  • Must have ability to multi-task / handle multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently
  • Ability to be a team player and ability to adjust to change with a positive attitude
