About Our Client

My client operates seven full-service branches in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. The bank provides commercial real estate and small business loans and a range of complementary bank products and services.

Job Description

  • Review monthly and quarterly regulatory and management reports.
  • Responsible for updating relevant treasury policies and procedures and ensuring full compliance.
  • Manage accounting for fixed assets, prepaid, and accounts payable processes.
  • Review Investment Accounting ledgers and payroll processing.
  • Manage the Correspondent Bank Account, Loan Accounting, and Investment accounting functions and reconciliations.
  • Responsible for the review and approval of all period-end closing entries, and coordination with the Controller on adjustments for appropriateness, consistency and conformance with G.A.A.P. and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison to other departments regarding accounting matters and issues that affect the Bank's financials.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance.
  • Public accounting experience/MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a retail banking institution.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry Core Banking system, Profits Stars.
  • Excellent supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
