About Our Client

My client is a leading broker dealer located in Manhattan.

Job Description

  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure that the US companies of the Group are fiscally compliant with all regulatory and legal requirements
  • Policies & Procedures manual - updating policies and procedures as required.
  • Establish relationships with members of Head Office Finance Team
  • Collaborate on global finance projects, including testing associated with changes needed for the business
  • Assist in the delivery of information for the annual external audit of the broker dealer books and records
  • Prepare initial drafts of the annual and semi-annual financial statements, including footnotes
  • Prepare information for Regulatory filings
  • Prepare monthly management information
  • Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations to ensure compliance with regulations and internal control policies
  • Coordinate and participate in the month-end close process, including assigning tasks, preparing entries, analyzing intercompany charges, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and cleaning up general ledger accounts

The Successful Applicant

* Minimum 5 year of experience in public accounting or financial services industry
* Work as a small team and be adaptive in thinking
* Experience in using SAP Enterprise Software
* Experience in a broker/dealer with full range of products and activities desired but not mandatory
* Series 99 and 27 FINOP licenses desired but not mandatory
* Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
* Ability to work closely and effectively with various back office support units, particularly Operations/Middle Office/Compliance/IT
* Familiarity with trade processing system and enterprise systems.
* Experience in working in a Regional office with the Head Office in a different time zone
