Job Description

Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Project Manager - Public Construction:

  • Assist Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of public construction projects.
  • Help manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely completion.
  • Track project milestones and provide regular updates to senior project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants, ensuring compliance with contracts, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of necessary documentation, including permits, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Support the resolution of project-related issues and ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Monitor and enforce safety practices on-site to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project bids and proposals when required.

The Successful Applicant

Successful Assistant Project Manager - Public Construction Candidate:

  • 3-5 years of experience in public construction projects, with a strong understanding of public sector processes, requirements, and regulations.
  • Proven ability to assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, including subcontractors, consultants, and government officials.
  • Experience with construction project management software and tools is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to anticipating project needs and addressing challenges.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
