Job Description

Multifamily Assistant Superintendent responsibilities include:

  • Help overseeing multifamily construction sites - podium/wood frame, garden style, etc.
  • Position based in Seattle
  • Help schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in a critical path to ensure timely completion. Perform quality control duties and responsibilities specific to the work being performed;
  • Must have excellent management, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a strong focus on meeting construction schedules & budgets.
  • Ensure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work;
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions;
  • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards; issue notices of non-compliance;
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for resolution;
  • Maintain a daily log of activities on the job site using software;
  • Walk all units on the project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning

The Successful Applicant

Ideal multifamily Assistant Superintendent Background:

  • Willing to work in or around Seattle area
  • Experience as a construction Superintendent with multi-family podium/wood frame experience
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction related studies preferred
  • A minimum of 10-years experience in construction with at least five years on-site multifamily construction supervision/management
  • Acted as the Lead or General Construction Superintendent for a minimum of two ground-up new multifamily projects with a minimum of 50 units and greater
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules for construct-ability and conflict reviews specific to Multifamily construction
  • Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and the ability to derive the most efficient method of completing tasks
