Job Description

  • Advise employees and ensure timely communications on benefits plans, policies, and options available in-line with applicable federal, state, and local legislation

  • Manage the full benefit cycle of employees

  • Manage oversight of all record-keeping, reporting, disclosure, and compliance requirements in accordance with regulatory guidelines and record retention policies

  • Lead investigations and resolution of issues between employees and benefit carriers as well as handle escalated employee grievances or issues pertaining to benefit policies

  • Handle claims review, assist with claims processing, and validation of compliance with all required documents

  • Provides support, guidance and counsel to employees on employee relations issues, as needed

  • Leads on work force census, Workers Compensation audit, and all benefits related compliance data

  • Work on any other special projects as assigned

The Successful Applicant

  • 8+ years experience in US benefits management and administration

  • Existing knowledge and cadence for staying up to date on emerging employment legislation and codes of practice;

  • Keeps a pulse on applicable trends impacting the workplace and benefit compliance issues

  • Has masterful knowledge of all relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, including adopted and pending, that will directly impact employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements

  • Knowledge of COVID protocols, leave categories, and HR compliance responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong analytic skills & a thorough knowledge of benefits knowledge including plan designs funding and administration

  • CEBS, CBP or other HR certification required

  • Commitment and authentic interest in continuous learning and growth in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism and social justice
