Job Description

  • Must have legal experience
  • Gather and analyze market research and analysis on targets/sectors and identify areas of opportunity and action plans, including research on current clients
  • Oversee Projects BD activities to ensure objectives are met; including, but not limited to, client development, profile raising, marketing and communications, pitching and event management
  • Manage the Projects marketing budget
  • Connect the practice group lawyers with the global, regional, sector and domestic key client program and drive realization of opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of relevant global and local marketing products (e.g. from sector or regional programs) which can be used for client development and dialogue
  • Project management of bids, including; provide input on approach, team formations; draft, create, review and edit content; manage document development where necessary; ensure adherence to branding requirements; ensure adherence to pricing procedures
  • Ensure follow-up is sought from client post pitch; track and act on actions which arise; assess how feedback can be used to drive behavioral change
  • Monitor panel appointments and drive realization of opportunities presented
  • Develop high quality content to convey positioning, experience and value proposition messages,
  • Analyze win/lose rates and make recommendations as to how to improve performance
  • Ensure the practice experience content is up-to-date and representative of the firm's best work
  • Systematically manage league table and directory submissions and measure performance; agree target rankings with team leads for the Projects team; facilitate contribution to league tables and directories; report on change in rankings and against targets set; refine approach as needed
  • Ensure the Projects brand is compliant and adopt the visual identity to deliver consistent materials to market
  • Ensure all communications channels convey consistent messaging (including but not limited to web, podcasts, collateral, bids, experience statements, directories, league tables, CVs)
  • Identify and coordinate sponsorships, conferences or speaking opportunities that raise the group's overall profile
  • Manage contributions and input into business development systems including InterAction (CRM), bids and CV databases for supporting initiatives such as bids, events, client intelligence, experience statement compilation, league table and legal directory submissions
  • Integrate the use of these systems into all activity according to best practice

The Successful Applicant

  • Must have legal experience
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a professional services or energy sector environment; large law firm experience a plus
  • Possess solid business acumen, experience in analyzing business and industry trends, developing and executing integrated programs, as well as the ability to synthesize complex information
  • An innovative problem solver who is detail-oriented and highly organized; proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working in a matrix organization a plus
  • Self-starter with strong skills in written/oral communication, managing expectations and dealing with ambiguity
  • Hands-on experience using all programs under the Microsoft Suite (including direct experience with PowerPoint and advanced functions within Excel
  • Confident, persuasive and assertive; capable of building trust amongst the partnership and wider stakeholder community
  • Promotes and demonstrates our business principles of quality, unity and integrity
  • Some overtime and travel is required
  • Bachelor's degree required
