Our client is looking for a Benefits Manager to lead the strategy, administration, and compliance of all employee benefit programs, including health, retirement, wellness, and leave management. This role serves as a key partner to HR and leadership, ensuring competitive, cost-effective plans that support employee well-being across multiple states. This role is full-time on-site in Santa Paula, CA. Bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred.

About Our Client

Our client is a food distribution company with operations spanning the U.S. and international markets. They partner with retailers and food-service providers to deliver high-quality, seasonal offerings year-round. The Benefits Manager will report to their Santa Paula office five days a week.

The Benefits Manager will make sure employees have access to health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks like wellness programs and time-off benefits. They handle everything from working with vendors and answering employee questions to making sure the plans are fair, cost-effective, and meet all legal requirements. This position reports into the Director of HR and will work closely with HR, Accounting, and Legal, as well as external vendors.

Job Description



  • Manage and oversee employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, and wellness plans


  • Partner with vendors and brokers to ensure competitive, cost-effective offerings


  • Ensure compliance with regulations like ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and manage audits


  • Support union and non-union employee benefit needs across multiple locations


  • Lead benefits communications, open enrollment, and employee education initiatives
