The firm represents Fortune 500 companies, emerging growth businesses, and prominent individuals across a range of complex matters.Job DescriptionManage the daily operations of the billing department, including workflow management, quality control, and professional development of billing staff.Oversee complex client billing arrangements (e.g., alternative fee agreements, volume discounts, split billing, e-billing requirements), ensuring compliance with client guidelines and firm policies.Partner closely with partners and attorneys to proactively address billing needs, including new matter setups, rate arrangements, and client inquiries.Ensure timely distribution of pre-bills and final invoices, managing billing cycles to achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets.Lead efforts to resolve billing issues, facilitate client billing calls, and coordinate with collections to support cash flow objectives.Maintain and improve billing processes and systems, including workflow automation and best practices around e-billing platforms (e.g., BillBlast, Legal Tracker, Serengeti).Generate and analyze billing metrics, providing regular reporting to senior finance leadership and practice group heads.Support annual rate adjustments and the implementation of client-specific rate agreements.Lead or participate in special projects, such as new system implementations or process optimization initiatives.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
