About Our Client

I'm partnered with the CFO of a global multi-million dollar steel manufacturer in the south west suburbs of Chicago who is looking for a well-rounded Business Analyst/Accountant to join the team! My client is a subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar global parent company and is the world leader within their niche. In this blended role as the Business Analyst/Accountant you will be responsible for contribution to the development of standard data analyses, reports, and dashboards. In addition, will be responsible for all day-to-day financial tasks. Reporting directly into the CFO, this person will have the ability to make an immediate impact in a highly visible role!

Job Description

  • Partners with leadership to ensure an in-depth understanding of requirements and performance
  • levers (KPIs) for each analysis
  • Develops new solutions and dashboards to make accurate decisions
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and
  • developing and implementing solutions.
  • Using data to develop and optimize strategies and processes, increase profits, efficiency, quality, or
  • security, and reduce costs.
  • Working with internal departments to collect data and develop and implement strategies.
  • Creating reports and presentations to summarize findings and influence company decisions.
  • Working with the management team to establish project objectives, budgets, and timelines, monitor
  • progress, and evaluate performance.
  • Implementing policies and procedures that keep company data and information secure as it is
  • collected, analyzed, stored, and discarded.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Monitor financial transactions and reports.
  • Process accounts receivable and payable.
  • Handle monthly payroll and reconciliations using accounting software.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven work experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially ERPs (SAGE X3 v12) and analytics software (SEI),
  • mastery of certain programming languages may be required Fluency in Excel.
  • Strong math, organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional presentation, research, and verbal and written communication. Must be able to
  • communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can
  • understand.
  • Ability to summarize and explain complex information to others.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • 3+ years of experience
