About Our Client

For several decades my client has been producing healthy snacks through out the US. As of today they manufacture several brands for businesses in travel, convenience, eCommerce, grocery, mass, drug and club channels as well as private label for all channels. My client operates in the DTLA area in a 250K+ sqft facility in an SQF level 3 certified facility and produce 400+ variations of products.

Job Description

Establishing and maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, and material shortage elimination.
Report to management the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier performance.
Negotiate and execute purchase orders or vendor contracts as needed to support order fulfillment and on time customer deliveries.
Manage inbound material flow to ensure inventory is maintained at the optimum levels.
Lead strategic sourcing process to drive out cost of the supply chain by managing the following: Commodity and negotiation strategies including Terms and Conditions Supplier selection/de-selection, evaluation, and rationalization of Supply chain solutions, including vendor managed inventory (VMI), supplier consignment, safety stock levels, etc.
Collaborate with peers on sales order fulfillment.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent business experience.
3+ years progressive experience in Purchasing & Sourcing with extensive experience in the food manufacturing industry; other consumer goods disciplines acceptable
Solid track record meeting order fulfillment targets.
Analytical skills (MS Office, with an emphasis on advanced level Excel)
Experience with Microsoft NAV, Just Foods, SAP or similar ERP system is highly preferred.
Good understanding of packaging components and associated commodities.
Strong sense of urgency.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Team oriented, well organized and focused on details.
Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
