About Our Client

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services required by the company. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and the Procurement Manager to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality products. The Buyer will also manage inventory levels, monitor supplier performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Job Description



  • Sourcing and Procurement:
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best value for the company.
    • Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.


  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
    • Work with the warehouse and production teams to manage inventory flow and minimize excess stock.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.


  • Supplier Performance Management:
    • Track and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost criteria.
    • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers.
    • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers.


  • Cost Control and Budget Management:
    • Monitor and control procurement costs to align with budgetary constraints.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve savings.
    • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and cost performance.


  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
    • Assist in internal and external audits as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in procurement or a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant market trends and conditions.



What's on Offer

Target compensation for the Buyer is $65,000 - $80,000 base salary. Compensation is commensurate with candidate experience.
