Job Description



Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong working knowledge of all assigned chemical processes, equipment, and operating parameters
  • Maintain and update process documentation, including PFDs, operating conditions, flow rates, compositions, and QC test requirements
  • Perform daily process monitoring using batch sheets
  • Participate directly in hands-on operation of plant equipment and support safe operating conditions
  • Review completed batch sheets with operators and recommend improvements
  • Train and guide operators on troubleshooting, best practices, process safety, and optimized production methods
  • Conduct off-shift visits to meet with 2nd and 3rd shift teams as needed
  • Attend engineering and production meetings; coordinate routine and project maintenance
  • Support PHAs and propose process improvements related to quality, safety, waste reduction, and operability
  • Write and review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs); manage small-scale projects
  • Collaborate with design engineering on larger capital projects
  • Help maintain Standard Operating Instructions (startup, operating, shutdown procedures)

The Successful Applicant



Ideal Candidate:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering
  • 1-5 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering
  • Strong foundation in chemical engineering principles including heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid flow, distillation, reaction engineering, and extraction
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously
  • Strong verbal/written communication and ability to work effectively with operations and engineering teams
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn new chemistries and processes, and comfortable working hands-on in a plant environment
  • Proficient in computer-based business and technical applications
