Chief Estimator- Civil

-Prepare budgets and bids for all civil projects, and for continuous preconstruction on awarded projects that are in the development phase.
-Compile qualified bidders lists, issuing invitations to bidders, soliciting bids, preparing estimates, quantifying and pricing labor and materials, receiving bids, and reviewing bids to prepare total project costs
-Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to lead estimators in preparing time, cost, and labor estimate for projects under various delivery methods
-Lead preparation of estimates for multi-discipline projects including understanding scope and accurate quantities
-Oversee and upskill other estimators
-Lead a team during the estimating process including executive review and estimating meetings
-Develop Subcontractor and Vendor solicitation strategies to create value for the bid
-Lead meetings with Subcontractors/Vendors to ensure complete scopes and aligned strategies
-Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids
-Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation
-Manage information system to compare estimated costs to actual costs
-Research and lead process of continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods
-Examine construction sites and observe unusual or challenging conditions
