The Project Manager will oversee commercial construction projects across the Charlotte metro area, managing the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through turnover. This is a hands‑on PM role requiring strong technical knowledge, someone who can run RFIs, submittals, change orders, budgets, schedules, and client communication independently while leading lean project teams.

Job Description

  • Manage day‑to‑day operations for commercial projects up to $20-30M.
  • Lead RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawing reviews, and all PM documentation.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, buyout, financial reporting, and closeout.
  • Coordinate directly with Superintendents, APMs, and field teams on multiple active jobs.
  • Conduct OAC meetings, lead subcontractor coordination, and maintain proactive communication with consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Support preconstruction planning for upcoming projects as needed.
  • Mentor junior staff and serve as a reliable resource for industry‑standard PM tasks.
  • Represent the company professionally with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Commercial Construction Project Manager should have:

  • 5-8 years of combined APM + PM experience;
  • MUST have proven, hands‑on experience with:
    • RFIs
    • Submittals
    • Change Orders
    • Buyout & procurement
    • Billing, reporting, document control
    • Schedule review/updates
  • Background in general commercial construction required.
  • Relevant experience in one or more sectors:
    • K‑12 education
    • Healthcare / MOBs
    • High‑end commercial interiors / upfits
    • Light industrial
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability are essential.
  • Local to Charlotte preferred; relocators considered.
