This client is a full-service business law firm ranked among the top 200 firms in the country. This client is extremely polished and buttoned up and they are looking for someone with direct Commercial Real Estate Paralegal experience.

Job Description

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of construction, bridge and mezzanine lending
  • Title examining and title reviews
  • Representing senior lenders
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the transactions and be able to respond in real time to questions
  • Make revisions to documents and keep track of deal changes and update accordingly
  • Prepare signature pages for all deal documents
  • Title and survey review; which includes but is not limited to, reviewing and abstracting title documents, covenants, restrictions and easements, leases, etc.
  • Entity formation
  • Order and review UCC and litigation searches; prepare summary of relevant findings
  • Conduct due diligence (which includes organizing documents and summarizing relevant documents and preparing relevant abstracts)
  • Prepare and maintain closing checklists
  • Assist in preparations for closing and attendance at closings, whether in escrow or in person
  • Prepare closing binders
  • Prepare summaries of loan documents and other material documents
  • Handle all support aspects of a commercial transaction, title/survey review, UCC research and filings, due diligence, ancillary document drafting, and closing/post-closing procedures
  • Maintain organized files for voluminous transactions
  • Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled and to stay after scheduled departure hour as needed on an OT basis
  • Using Elite/3E time entry software, iManage or file site document management systems

The Successful Applicant

  • 3-5 years of COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE experience is REQUIRED for this role
  • Experience with title examining and reviews (heavy)
  • Must come from commercial real estate
  • Previous experience working for AMLaw 200 or another sophisticated law firm within the commercial real estate area
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with sophisticated, complex commercial real estate deals
  • Experience with and knowledge of construction, bridge and mezzanine lending
  • Happy to commute into the midtown Manhattan office
