Job Description

Construction Assistant Project Manager - Manhattan, NY

    • Support Project Managers across all phases of retail construction projects-from preconstruction through project turnover.
    • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, procurement, long‑lead materials, and vendor logistics.
    • Assist with cost tracking, budgeting, change orders, and invoicing.
    • Maintain project schedules, update documentation, and support daily communication with field teams.
    • Collaborate with architects, brand reps, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain design intent.
    • Track punch list progress, assist with closeout packages, and ensure adherence to brand standards.
    • Help manage fast‑paced timelines and ensure efficient workflow across multiple concurrent projects.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Construction Assistant Project Manager should have:

    • 2-5+ years of retail construction experience-this is essential and non‑negotiable.
    • Strong understanding of interior retail build‑outs, finishes, millwork coordination, and rapid scheduling timelines.
    • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, responsive, and comfortable juggling multiple active projects.
    • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills with the ability to work closely with demanding retail clients.
    • Proficient with project management software and digital document control systems.
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
