This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for bids and proposals across a range of agency-driven work, including schools, municipal buildings, and infrastructure upgrades.

Job Description

  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure alignment between estimates and execution
  • Participate in bid strategy meetings and assist with proposal preparation
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records
  • Ensure compliance with agency requirements, prevailing wage laws, and MWBE goals

The Successful Applicant

  • 3+ years of experience estimating public construction projects in NYC
  • Familiarity with agencies such as SCA, DDC, DASNY, NYCHA, etc.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Timberline, Bluebeam, Excel)
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
