Job Description

    • Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs and material pricing to accurately estimate project costs for ground-up commercial construction projects.
    • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify project requirements, scope, and potential risks.
    • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to solicit competitive bids and negotiate pricing agreements.
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
    • Evaluate subcontractor proposals, qualifications, and performance history to ensure alignment with project goals and budgetary constraints.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and industry standards to inform accurate cost projections and competitive bidding strategies.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to discuss project requirements, scope, and pricing strategies.

The Successful Applicant

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a focus on ground-up projects.
    • Proficiency in construction estimating software, such as Bluebeam, RSMeans, or Sage Estimating.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex construction documents and specifications.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in estimating project costs.
    • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to commercial construction.
