About Our Client

With over 50 years of experience, my client a national real estate firm is a leader in the industry, with multiple offices throughout the US. They recently moved into a new office in Waukesha, WI and have a strong track record of purchasing land and developing properties, as well as purchasing properties and improving them for new tenants. As the company looks to the future, they have multiple exciting ground-up projects in the works for the spring, and plenty of office tenant improvement projects lined up for the winter. Their primary focus is on projects throughout southern Wisconsin, and they specialize in office space TI projects, ground-up multitenant light industrial buildings, and multitenant retail. They are committed to delivering exceptional results and creating spaces that meet the unique needs of our clients.

Job Description

Key Responsibilties of the Construction Manager:

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure project specifications and requirements are met
  • Manage project budget and ensure that project stays within budget constraints
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
  • Manage project changes, risks, and issues, and communicate these to the project team and stakeholders
  • Attend project meetings and report on project progress to senior management
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work is completed to the highest standards
  • Ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained prior to construction and are maintained throughout the project lifecycle
  • Facilitate the resolution of any conflicts or disputes that may arise during the project
  • Prepare and distribute project reports and status updates to stakeholders as required
  • Manage project closeout procedures, including ensuring all project documentation is complete and archived, and that all necessary inspections and sign-offs have been completed

The Successful Applicant

Qualifactions:

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction management or related
  • Previous experience in managing commercial interiors or tenant improvement projects preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management and estimating software

Worked for a developer or GC previously would be best.

  • Background in ground up or TI construction
  • 3-10ish years in construction preferred
  • Leadership abilities but also able to wear many hats
  • Passionate about growing the business and their role
  • Great attitude; will be required to jump in and help where necessary but will have support.
