Client is seeking a Construction Project Controls Manager responsible for overseeing the planning, budgeting, and scheduling of construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Project Planning & Scheduling:
    • Develop and manage detailed project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project timelines and milestones.
    • Monitor the progress of the project, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
    • Identify and manage project risks, and develop contingency plans.


  2. Cost Management & Budgeting:
    • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs stay within the allocated budget.
    • Track and report on project expenditures and forecast future costs.
    • Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions to stay within budget.
    • Assist with procurement and contracting processes.


  3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Provide regular project performance reports to senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
    • Implement performance metrics to evaluate project success and identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status, including schedule adherence, budget status, and any risks or issues.


  4. Risk & Change Management:
    • Identify potential risks related to project scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
    • Implement risk management processes to minimize project risks.
    • Manage project changes, including scope changes, and evaluate their impact on budget and schedule.


  5. Collaboration & Communication:
    • Facilitate communication between different departments, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
    • Collaborate with the construction team to resolve issues and facilitate project delivery.
    • Work closely with other project control team members to ensure integration of scheduling, cost, and reporting systems.


  6. Quality Control:
    • Ensure that the project is adhering to quality standards by reviewing and monitoring construction processes.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.


  7. Documentation & Record Keeping:
    • Maintain and manage project documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
    • Ensure that all project-related documents are stored and organized in a compliant manner.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering) certification, or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls or construction management, with a strong background in project scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
    • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and industry standards.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large, complex construction projects (e.g., infrastructure, commercial, or industrial projects).
  • Knowledge of contract management and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with cost estimating and cost control tools.
